Unit Care
The precision parts in the unit are readily affected by the
environment, especially temperature, humidity, and dust. Cigarette
smoke also can cause malfunction or breakdown.

er use alcohol, thinner or benzine to clean the unit.
Before using chemically treated cloth, carefully read the instructions
that came with the cloth.
To clean the DVD lens
Dust and dirt may adhere to the unit’s lens o

impossible to record or play discs.
Use the DVD lens cleaner about once e

ery year, depending on

uency of use and the operating en

ironment.

To clean the video heads
Dirt on the

ideo heads can cause poor recording and play.

Do not place the unit on amplifi ers

The heat can damage the unit.
The unit should not be installed
or operated near large magnets

VHS recordings.

y objects on top of the unit.
The unit should not be mounted in a

ertical position. It’s designed
to operate in the horizontal position.
Before mo

ing the unit, ensure the disc tray and cassette
compartment are empty. Failure to do so will risk se

damaging the disc, tape and the unit.

Cautions about condensation
Condensation can cause unreliable playback of recordings.
Condensation may form in the following cases,
The unit is brought from cold surroundings into a well-heated room.
The unit is suddenly brought from cool surroundings, such as an air-
conditioned room or car, to a place which is hot and humid.
During rainy seasons.
In any of the abo

e-mentioned conditions, do not operate the unit for at
least 2 hours. The unit is not e

uipped with a moisture sensor.
