6. EXPORTING CLIP DATA
Using ClipCopy, the clips registered in the BIN in newsBYTE/QuickCutter can be exported to
the video server.
The types of clips which can be exported as defined below.
A) AV Clip
B) Sequence Clip
6.1 Exporting Clip
When clip is exported, Audio and Video data is formatted with SMPTE314M (DVCPRO) or
SMPTE360M (GXF) format then transferred as a file and recorded on the video server.
The base name of each file (filename minus extension) is the same as the clip name.
By following the steps below, clip data can be exported.
1. Click on the TopBin icon or the icon of the BIN hierarchically below on Volume View to
display the clips on List View.
2. Use the mouse to drag the desired clip on List View.
3. Drop the dragged clip onto the server icon on Volume View.
This operation is pictured in Fig. 6-1.

When clip has been exported, file is created on the video server using the name of the clip in
the BINs. (See note 11 below.)
Also, along with exporting sequence clip, rendering begins prior to transfer.
Note11: By installing a separate automation software program and performing the appropriate settings, operation
can be linked with the automation server, and names of files created on the server can be acquired,
changed, etc. For details on the integration and detailed specifications of the automation system, consult
your dealer.
