IR recording
A night time shooting using the IR light can be performed.

Assigning [IR REC] to the USER button

Select the [CAMERA] menu
→
[USER SW]
→
[USER1] to [USER12]
→
[IR REC].
Set so enable/disable of the IR recording can be switched with a USER button.

Performing IR recording

Press the USER button to which [IR REC] is assigned or touch the USER button icon.
The unit will enter the IR recording mode.

The following happens in the IR recording mode:

[IR] is displayed on the camera image screen.
j
Iris is automatically adjusted.

Press the REC button.
IR recording is started.

When using the face detection/tracking AE&AF function

It is recommended to use a tripod.

It takes longer to focus with Auto Focus in dark locations.

You can record a clear image by positioning the center area of the screen over the subject.

Focus values may not be displayed correctly in IR recording mode.

Recording the proxy data [CX10]
With P2 recording on this unit, apart from the normal recording of video, it is also possible to simultaneously record AVC-G6 format as proxy data.

Select the [SYSTEM] menu
→
[FILE FORMAT]
→
[P2].
[REC FORMAT] needs to be set to something other than AVC-G12.

Select the [RECORDING] menu
→
[PROXY REC]
→
[ON].
[PXY] is displayed next to the recording format in the camera image screen. This indicates that the recording of the proxy data is set.

Press the REC button.
Proxy data is recorded at the same time that normal video is recorded.

The proxy data is recorded to the memory card in the same card slot used for normal recording. It is not possible to record only proxy data.

[P] is displayed in the thumbnail screen on the clip with a proxy data recorded.

The recorded proxy data cannot be played back with this unit. The data can be played back on a P2 Viewer Plus. For information about P2 Viewer Plus, refer
to the support page on the following website.

The resolution of the proxy data is the same as the data recorded normally.

The file format is MOV format that is also appropriate to a nonlinear editing. For details of format, refer to “Specifications” (

When [FILE FORMAT] is set to anything other than [P2], the proxy data cannot be recorded.

When [REC FORMAT] is set to AVC-G12, the proxy data cannot be recorded.

For the recording restriction during the proxy recording, refer to “Recording function that cannot be used simultaneously” (
198). Also, the recording
function of the proxy data cannot be simultaneously used with the streaming function (
184).

It is not possible to restore proxy data. When a clip with proxy data is restored, only the data recorded normally is restored. The proxy data is erased.
