Operating instructions:
The following inspection must be carried out every time before starting to use the
mower.
1.
Check the oil level of the gearbox.
2.
Check that all plugs in the gearbox are in good condition and properly tightened.
3.
Make sure that all flail-mower blades, bolts and nuts are tightened.
4.
Make sure that all shields and guards are in place and properly attached.
5.
Lubricate the PTO shaft and all other grease nipples.
6.
Clear the working area of stones, branches and other objects.
7.
Lower the flail mower to the ground. Set the tractor throttle at ¼. Engage the PTO so
the blades start to rotate.
8.
Maintain a PTO speed of 540 rpm.
9.
Start out slowly and accelerate gradually until you reach the desired speed – maximum
540 rpm.
10.
The flail mower’s blades cut better at a higher rpm than at reduced throttle.
11.
After the first 15 metres, stop working and check that the flail mower is correctly
adjusted.
12.
Never try to turn or drive in reverse while the flail mower is lowered to the ground.
13.
Do not engage the PTO while the flail mower is raised.
Mowing instructions:
1.
Clear the area to be mowed of objects and waste that could be hit by the flail mower’s
blades.
2.
It is best to mow grass when it is dry. If the grass is wet when it is mowed, it will bunch
up behind the flail mower.
3.
Grass must be mowed often because shorter clippings disintegrate faster.
4.
If the grass is very tall, it is advisable to raise the mowing height, mow the grass and
then lower the mower to the preferred height and mow the grass once more.
NB! Do not forget to replenish the oil of the
right-angle gear unit
– it holds 1 litre of 80W-90.
