Before getting started:
The flail mower requires a tractor with a minimum PTO output of 80 HP and two
double-action hydraulic outlets.
Connect the tractor to the flail mower in the three-point linkage. Attach the PTO shaft
and attach the four hydraulic hoses in pairs to the tractor’s hydraulic outlets.
Before start-up, clear the working area of stones, branches and similar.
The flail mower is designed to mow both in line with and offset from the tractor. In
addition, it can be tilted upward to cut at a 90° angle.
•
Trailed directly behind the tractor for maintaining field lanes, etc.
•
Offset to one side for mowing field edges, ditches and slopes.
•
Tilted up to a 90° angle for trimming hedgerows and hedges.
The roller’s position close to the rotor makes it smoothly conform to the ground’s
contours.
Connection to the tractor:
1.
Make sure that the tractor’s drawbar does not get in the way. Move it or remove it if
necessary. Check whether there is enough space the first time you lift the flail mower.
2.
Position the tractor’s bottom suspension arms across from the flail mower’s brackets.
Place the linkage’s bottom pins in the lowest turning joint and attach a split pin.
3.
Attach the top bar to the flail mower’s top suspension bar using the accompanying split
pin. Lock it in place with a locking split.
4.
Adjust the top bar in or out to get the top linkage pin to be vertically above or slightly
behind the bottom linkage pins – to allow the flail mower to move. Operate the flail
mower with its tail end 15 degrees lower than the front end.
Attaching the PTO shaft:
1.
Set the PTO shaft end with the safety sheath over the gearbox’s PTO shaft and connect
them by means of the attachment unit.
2.
Attach the other end of the PTO shaft to the tractor’s PTO shaft and fasten them in
place with the PTO’s locking unit.
3.
Move the PTO shaft back and forth to make sure it is tightly connected to both tractor
and flail mower.
