Cleaning
If the tent should require cleaning, set it up and use a sponge with warm water to
clean. If further cleaning is required, a garden hose can be used to wash off any
remaining dirt. Do not use detergent, soap, bleach, or have the tent dry cleaned, as
this may remove the waterproofing and/or damage the fabric. Allow the tent to air-
dry completely before packing or storing.
Storage
Packing and storing the tent while it’s wet or damp leads to premature breakdown
of the canvas and coatings. Prolonged exposure to moisture causes the waterproof
layer to break down, becoming soft, sticky and no longer waterproof. Storing a wet
tent can cause mildew to form on the fabric. Mildew will cause the tent to stain,
smell, and may lead to the premature breakdown of the waterproof coating. Dry the
tent thoroughly after every trip.
Animals and Insects
To prevent damage from animals chewing holes in the tent fabric, never store food
or cooking equipment in the tent.
When packing away ensure that there are no insects inside the tent as they may try
to eat their way out, causing holes in the material.
Important Notes
1. If you have an Oztent Floor Saver, place it where you want to set up prior to
setting up your tent.
2. Assemble your Tent Fly before Step 6 of “Setting Up the Oztent RX” in the
following instructions.
3. Pack your tent away in the reverse order of set up. Roll up your rear window
and front awning and leave the front door open. Remove your awning poles
and take all pegs out. Lower the tent to the ground and first swing in arm “A”
followed by arm “B”. Always swing the arms low to the ground.
4. If you have an Oztent RX-5, ensure your back extension is neatly tucked inside
the tent prior to pack down.
5. Although the Oztent RX series and accessories are designed for one person
operation, a second person will make your set-up significantly easier and faster.
6. The following illustrations are artistic representations of the Oztent RX series
and may differ from the production model. However, the overall operation will
be the same.
