OPERATION
On/Off Switch
To turn on the demolition breaker, slide the On/Off Switch
(5) to the right (Fig. 4).
To turn off the demolition breaker, slide the On/Off Switch
(5) to the left.
Note:
Always wait until the SDS max accessory has
stopped moving before putting down the demolition
breaker.
Variable Speed Dial
Your tool is equipped with a variable speed dial (7). The
impact rate (bpm) can be varied according to the type of
work being performed.
The variable speed dial (7) can be adjusted while the
motor is running with the demolition breaker free from
work, allowing you to adjust the impact rate according the
required application (Fig. 5).
Cold Hammering
If the demolition breaker is stored for long periods of time
or at cold temperatures, the lubrication may become stiff
and the demolition breaker may not hammer initially or the
hammering may be weak.
Should this occur, insert a SDS max accessory into the
demolition breaker, turn the demolition breaker on and
apply the end of the SDS max accessory against a scrap
piece of concrete or timber (Fig. 6). Turn the demolition
breaker on and off every few seconds. After 15 seconds to
2 minutes, the demolition breaker should have started to
hammer normally. The colder the demolition breaker, the
longer it may take to warm up and function like normal.
Note:
Always wait until the SDS max accessory has stopped
moving before putting down the demolition breaker.
Operating the Demolition Breaker
For the best penetration rates in concrete, run the demolition breaker with a steady
pressure, but do not use excessive force as this will decrease the efficiency of the
demolition breaker.
Do not use the SDS max flat chisel (11) as a “pry bar”. Using the SDS max flat chisel
(11) for prying or pushing debris away from your work area will damage the SDS max
flat chisel (11) and potentially cause damage to your demolition breaker.
Such damage will void your warranty.
Note:
The SDS max flat chisel (11) and the SDS max pointed chisel (12) are
consumable items and are not covered under warranty.
