Adjusting the cutting angle
•
The cutting angle can be set by loosening the bevel locking knob and moving the
fence to the required angle and then retightening. The most popular angles used
can be set quickly with the positive stops.
Adjusting the height
•
The correct height can be set by loosening the height locking knob and rotating
the height adjustment knob which slides the fence to the desired height with the
aid of the scale.
•
The height should correspond to half of the material thickness of the working piece
taking into account the width of the blade; the groove for the biscuit should always
be in the middle of the working piece unless you are joining thick pieces.
•
Retighten the height locking knob securely.
Disconnect plug from the mains socket.
After extended use, the blade on your Biscuit Joiner may become dull and need
replacing. If you accidentally hit a nail or other blunt object, it will break the
carbide tips on the blade. These situations also require replacing the blade.
How to Replace the Blade
1. Place your Biscuit Joiner upside down on a work bench.
2. Loosen the allen key bolt and retaining cup at the rear of the base (next to the
dust extraction port) and then open the base door fully to gain access to the
blade.
3. Depress spindle lock and using pin spanner supplied undo locking flange (right
hand thread) by turning pin spanner counter clockwise.
4. Ensure blade is in correct position over spindle spigot. (Test by manually spinning
blade, blade should move freely).
Note:
Saw teeth point toward the right of the unit when held in the normal operating
position. An arrow on the gear case housing also indicates the direction of rotation.
5. Replace locking flange by pushing down on spindle lock button and tighten
locking flange with pin spanner.
6. Remove any saw dust and other debris before closing the base door ensuring that
it is firmly in position and flush with outer housing. Reposition the retaining cup
over both halves of the base bulge and retighten the allen key bolt.
