3.2 Indications
• Acute or chronic joint pain
• Hemiplegia
• Subluxation/dislocation
Indications must be determined by the physician.
3.3 Contraindications
The following indications require consultation with a physician: skin diseases/injuries, inflamma­
tion, prominent scars that are swollen, reddening and hyperthermia of the fitted limb; pronounced
varicose veins, especially with return flow impairment, lymphatic flow disorders, including unclear
soft tissue swelling distal to the support; sensory and circulatory disorders in the area of the arm
and hand.
3.4 Effects
The orthosis relieves and supports the shoulder, and ensures slight outward rotation of the
shoulder.
