4.2 Fitting and Application

Do not wear this product directly on the skin.

Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to improper
or excessively tight application
Ensure that the brace is applied properly and fits correctly.
NOTICE
Use of a worn or damaged product
Limited effectiveness
Before each use, check the product for functional reliability and for possible wear
or damage.
Do not continue using a product that is no longer functional, or that is worn or
damaged.
NOTICE
Improper molding or application
Insufficient stabilization due to loss of material functionality
Do not expose the product to oils, salves, lotions or other products that contain
oils or acids.
Do not make any improper changes to the product.
Always apply the product according to the information in the instructions.
A pad is also available in addition to the brace and can be ordered as a service part if
necessary.
1) Optional—installing the pad (see fig. 3): use the hook-and-loop closure to attach
the pad to the inside of the brace so that it is at least 1 cmabove the seat surface
when seated.
2) Applying (see fig. 1): place the brace around the trunk. Place the fingers in the grip
pockets of the abdominal closure. Apply equal force toboth sides to pull the brace
forward.
3) Hook-and-loop material (see fig. 2): attach the right part to the top ofthe left part
of the abdominal closure. Remove the fingers from the leftand then from the right
grip pockets. Ensure that the hook-and-loop sections are lying flat against each
other and are not in contact with clothingor skin.
4) Final check: the correct fit and proper positioning of the brace must bechecked
during handover to the patient. The brace is positioned correctly when the lower
edge of the brace extends just below the groin.
5) Instruct the patient: explain to the patient how to apply the brace andensure that it
is positioned correctly. Practice applying and removing thebrace with the patient.
