•
If the wheelchair becomes wet, it should be rubbed dry again as quickly as possible.
•
Bolted connections should be periodically checked for tightness, especially during the initial period of use or after
making adjustments to the wheelchair. If the bolted connection comes loose several time, inform your dealer imme
diately.
6.2 Repair
6.2.1 Inner tube/rim tape/tyre replacement
INFORMATION
When using the wheelchair outdoors, you should always have a repair kit and tyre pump (if the wheelchair has inflat
able tyres) with you for emergencies.
Suitable tyre pumps are listed on the order form and are supplied with the product. Alternatively, a puncture spray
that fills the tyres with a hardening foam (available from bicycle shops) can be used.
A puncture or other tyre damage can be repaired yourself with a little technical skill and suitable tools:
Removal and preparation for installation
1) Carefully remove the tyre from the rim using suitable tools.
INFORMATION Take care not to damage the rim or the inner tube.
2) Unscrew the valve nut of the inner tube from the valve and remove the inner tube.
3) Repair the inner tube according to the instructions in the repair kit or replace it.
4) Before fitting the tyre again, inspect the rim bed and tyre inner wall for foreign matter. This could have caused the
puncture.
5) Before fitting the inner tube, inspect the condition of the rim tape. The rim tape protects the inner tube from being
damaged by the ends of the spokes.

Replacing the rim tape (only if necessary)
1) If replacement is necessary, remove the old rim tape from the rim.
2) Place the new rim tape around the rim with the valve opening in the correct position.
3) If required by the specific type, glue down the rim tape. Ensure that all spoke ends are covered.
Installing inner tube and tyre
1) Beginning behind the valve, place one side of the tyre over the edge of the wheel rim.
2) Inflate the inner tube slightly until it takes on its round form.
3) Unscrew the valve nut from the inner tube and push the valve through the opening in the wheel rim.
4) Place the inner tube inside the tyre.
5) Fit the other side of the tyre – starting opposite the valve – onto the wheel rim. The inner tube must not be pinched
between tyre and wheel rim.
