The 50A11 Omo Immobil Rotation orthosis also features various elements for
setting the external rotation to 10°, 20° or 30°. When required, an element can
be attached to the tube frame by undoing two locking pins.
2 Handling
2.1 Size selection
The size of the orthosis is selected according to body height.
2.2 Adapting and applying the product
The initial fitting and application of the product must be carried out by trained,
qualified personnel only.
2.2.1 Adapting the product
Setting the body side
The shoulder joint orthosis comes already adjusted for the right arm. To set it
up for the left side, remove the waist belt and the hand pad and attach them
laterally reversed on the opposite side of the torso component (Fig. 2). When
reattaching the waist belt, make sure that the strap guide loop is at the front
(anterior). Remove the arm straps and undo the shoulder strap closure. Do
not remove the shoulder pad from the shoulder strap. Once adjusted for the
left shoulder, turn the pad on the strap so that seam is away from the body.
Setting the abduction angle
The desired abduction angle can be set with the abduction wedges that attach
to the orthosis with hook and loop patches. To do this, unfold the orthosis and
position the wedge at the upper pivot point of the joint (where the torso sup-
port and arm rest connect) on the arm rest (Fig. 3). Fold back the arm rest.
If 0° abduction is desired, attach the double-sided hook strip at the position
described above.
Shortening the shoulder strap or waist belt
INFORMATION
To produce the desired effect, the orthosis must always be
firmly applied. Custom adjustment is an important prerequisite for successful
treatment.
If necessary, the waist belt and should strap can be shortened by an orthotist.
To do this, remove the hook and loop closure from the strap, shorten the strap
and re-attach the closure. The hook and loop closures should be located at
the front (anterior side) of the torso for ease of use.
