Uplink LED on the board should be illuminated.  When this LED is ON, it means the host computer is linked to the expansion unit.   

 

If it is not illuminated, the host computer is not linked up or connected to the expansion chassis. 
 

 

 

Host card LED indicator should display five solid green LEDs.  It signifies that is training to x8. 

 

If you are seeing four solid green LEDs (illuminated) and one amber solid, this is OK.  It means that it is training to x4,  it is not 
utilizing its full x8 bandwidth.
