Tirehand Troubleshooting
SYMPTOM PROBABLE CAUSE
Controls fail to respond. 
E-stop on remote pressed in.

Remote not turned on.

Pump not engaged - if supplied with electric clutch.

Hydraulic oil supply is low.

Hydraulic pressure line is ruptured.

Suction line shut-off valve is obstructed.

Faulty hydraulic pump.

Incorrectly set relief valve.
Operation slows down. 
Hydraulic oil supply is low.

Hydraulic pump is operating at a reduced speed.

Relief valve is set too low.

Pump or cylinder is worn.

Pump is slipping due to excessive oil temperature. (This is a
factor which will increase with worn components.)

Dirty filter.

Inoperative valve spools.

Obstructed cylinder holding valve.
Rotation control slowed or
erratic. 
Internal port orifices are clogged.

Rotation gears are locked or damaged.
Arms and pads drift when
loaded and controls
neutralized. 
Hydraulic oil is bypassing at piston rings.

Cylinder holding valves are defective or contaminated.
Unusual noise in operation. 
Pump cavitation due to low hydraulic oil supply.

Loading is excessive.

Restriction or collapse of suction line.

Bypass settings on relief valve are too low.

Relief valve is damaged.

Valve closure is obstructed due to particle accumulation.
Side step chatters or slows.

Bearings need lubrication.

Mechanical damage to bracket.

Lower cylinder damaged.
Arm chatter or noise. 
Arms need both internal and external lubrication.

Bearing damaged.
