USE OF THE MACHINERY IN REGULAR WORKING CONDITIONS 

6.1  Inspection before use 

The machinery is delivered in fully assembled conditions and can therefore operate safely. Before 

operating  the  machinery,  read  these  instructions  for  use,  check  the  machinery  integrity  (visual 
check)  and  make  sure  that  the  machinery  operators  have  been  properly  trained.  Carry  out  the 
following checks once a day before starting work: 

 

S

  Check load conditions before hoisting. 

S

  Check crane load capacity. 

S

  Check  that  the  ground  bears  the  max.  outriggers  load  (see  INDICATIVE  TABLE  FOR 

THE BEARING CAPACITY OF SOME GROUNDS page 72). 

S

  Check that the work area is adequate to the crane operation. Make sure that you have a 

good  view  of  the  work  area  otherwise  check  that  the  communication  system  between  the 
supervisor and the crane operator enables operation in safe conditions. 

S

  Check crane position. 

S

  Check that the outrigger feet are in good working conditions. 

S

  Check that the tracks are in good working conditions. 

S

  Check that the hoisting chain (winch, rope, pulleys, eyebolts, block and hook) is in good 

working conditions. 

S

  Check level of the hydraulic oil in the tank and that there are no oil leaks in the hydraulic 

system. 

S

  Check engine correct operation, oil level and fuel level (SPX424CDH). 

S

  Check  correct  operation  of  the  safety  devices  (stability  sensor  unit,  safety  electronic 

control unit, boom assembly rotation position sensor, rope locking sensor). 

S

  Check correct operation of the outrigger locking system. 

S

  Check  correct  operation  of  the  controls  and  indicators  (e.g.  load  conditions,  fluid  level, 

engine operation, hydraulic pressure, power supply, deterioration limits). 

S

  Visual check of the metal structural work. 

S

  Check structure for manifest defects (check welds of the hoisting structure). 

S

  Check greasing. 

S

  Check  if  people  other  than  the  operator  are  standing  within  the  machinery  operating 

range. 

S

  In case the machinery is operating in publicly accessible areas, cordon off the work area 

by means of barriers or other signalling means. 

S

  Check level of the battery liquid (). 

S

  Check level of battery charge (). 

 
 
 

In case the machinery had to work on upper floors, verify their maximum 
loading capacity according to what indicated in paragraph ‘Technical 
specifications’. 

CAUTION!!! 

Do not work on floors without having verified their loading capacity. The 
manufacturer declines any responsibility arising from damage or 
collapse.
