3.3 Wiring
WARNING
Be sure to switch off the power and make sure the area is not hazardous
before disconnecting modules or wires. The devices may only be connected to
the supply voltag shown on the type plate.
3.3.1 Grounding
Grounding and wire routing help limit the effects of noise due to electromagnetic interference
(EMI). Run the ground connection from the ground screw to the grounding surface prior to
connecting devices.
3.3.2 Dual Power Inputs
The router has two sets of power inputs, power input 1 and power input 2, on a 4-pin terminal
block on the router
’s top panel. Follow the steps below to wire redundant power inputs.
Step 1
: insert the negative/positive DC wires into the V-/V+ terminals, respectively.
Step 2
: to keep the DC wires from pulling loose, use a small flat-blade screwdriver to tighten
the wire-clamp screws on the front of the terminal block connector.
Note
: besides power input, the router can also be powered by a PoE PSE such as switch via
its PoE-enabled WAN port.
