Use the Orbit Toddler Car Seat only with children 15 to 50 pounds and less than
49 inches. Use the carseat according the following usage recommendations:
You will notice an overlap of the Rear- and Forward-Facing weight ranges. This
is so that you have fl exibility to make the transition when your child is over 1
year old and it feels right for your child’s size. Orbit Baby, along with many safety
groups, recommends
keeping children in a Rear-Facing position as long as
possible
while following the above requirements. However, the child should
switch from Rear- to Forward-Facing if the child is over 1 year of age or they are
uncomfortable in a Rear-Facing position.
Rear-Facing Use:
15-35 pounds
(all children under 1 year of age
MUST stay Rear-Facing)
Forward-Facing Use:
Over 1 year old AND 20-50 pounds
AND under 49 inches
The Right Position for Your Child’s Weight and Height
Discontinue usage of the Toddler Car Seat when your child grows beyond 50
pounds or 49 inches, or his/her ears are above the top of the seat back.
See pages 32-33 (Rear-Facing Use) or pages 59-60 (Forward-Facing Use) for
more information about how your child should fi t in the Toddler Car Seat.
