ORBIS CALORAMA/COMFORT VIEW (CCV) HEATER
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
SYMPTOM
Smoke or strange smell
on the first trial light up
after installation.
Sharp clicking noises at
ignition, or when the unit
cuts down or goes out.
Steam is discharged from
the outside vent.
Pilot will not light.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Grease or oil on the heat
exchanger.
2. Dust on heat exchanger.
1. Expansion/contraction
noise.
1. Water condensation on
cold days.
1. Gas is not turned on.
2. Piezo ignitor (electrode) is
damaged or wire lead is loose.
3. Pilot orifice is clogged.
4. Gas Control knob
not set properly.
5. Improper gas supply.
SOLUTION
1. No action required: will stop
after a short period of
operation.
2. Apply maintenance procedures
(see SECTION IV of this manual).
1. No action required: heater
activity causes some minor
noises.
1. No action required: this is a
natural result of combustion.
1. Turn on the gas at the manual
gas valve or main gas line.
2. Apply maintenance procedures
(see SECTION IV of this manual)
or replace Piezo ignitor
(electrode)
3. Apply maintenance procedures
(see SECTION IV of this manual)
4. Review correct lighting
procedures (see Figure 10
on page 15).
5. Call your gas supplier.
