Amplifier, speakers line

and critical path surveillance unit

SU-114N

*

The

open collector

output contacts

of

the unit are as per
the diagram
attached.

3. REAR VIEW

(1) Ethernet B connector

RJ-45  connector.  It  is  used,  in  a  redundant
network,  as  a  secondary  connection  to  the
Ethernet  network.  In  installations  with  a
redundant  network,  if  the  connection  to  ETH  A
fails,  the  unit  automatically  switches  to  this  B
connection,  so  that  the  PA  system  continues  to
operate.

(2) 10 Mb indicator of the Ethernet B input

Indicates  the  speed  of  the  Ethernet  network
connected  to  the  Ethernet  B  input.  If  the  LED  is
lit, it indicates a speed of 10 Mb. If it is not lit, it
indicates a network speed of 100 Mb.

(3) ACT indicator of the Ethernet B input

When  lit,  it  indicates  that  data  is  being  sent  or
received through the Ethernet B input.

(4) LINK indicator of the Ethernet B input

When  lit,  it  indicates  the  connection  of  the
Ethernet B input with the HUB or SWITCH.

(5) Ethernet A connector

RJ-45  connector.  Used  for  connection  to  the
Ethernet network.

(6)  10  Mb,  ACT  and  LINK  LED  indicators  of
the Ethernet A input

These serve the same purpose as the Ethernet B
indicators, applied in this case to the Ethernet A
input.

(7) CTRL OUT strip

Open  collector  output  contact*.  It  is  activated
when  surveillance  detects  amplifier,  loudspeaker
line or critical path errors.

(8) Power supply input

Used  to  power  the  SU-114N.  Connect  a  power
supply of 24 VDC / 1.5 A to this input.

(9) Ground to chassis connection.

(10) Supply fuse

2 A fuse inside the unit. To gain access to it, it is
necessary to remove the cover of the SU-114.

(11) Measure activation

Input contact, which allows an external device to
activate  measurement  at  audible  frequencies  (4
kHz or 400 Hz). It is activated when the contact
is connected to ground.

(12) Measure indication

Open  collector  output  contact*.  This  is  activated
when  the  SU-114N  is  engaged  in  measurement.
It is used:

In  installations  with  attenuators,  in  order  to
activate the security paging of the attenuators
when

loudspeaker

line

surveillance

is

performed.

In  installations  without  attenuators  and  with
music  programs,  in  order  to  attenuate  the
high  frequencies  of  the  music  when
loudspeaker  line  surveillance  is  performed,
through  a  contact  of  a  UMX-ECT  card
configured for this purpose.

In  installations  without  attenuators  and  with
music  programs,  without  UMX-ECT  cards  or
without  a  UMX-02/0  matrix,  in  order  to  stop
the  music  when  loudspeaker  line  surveillance
is  performed.  For  this  purpose  the  Measure
Indication  is  normally  used  connected  to  an
external relay, whose function is to cut off the
music  program  during  the  measurement
process.
