Amplifier, speakers line
and critical path surveillance unit
SU-114N
1. INTRODUCTION
The unit is modular in design, with the capacity
for surveillance of 14 zones.
It performs three surveillance functions:
Surveillance
of
the
loudspeaker
line
impedance
Surveillance of the power unit status of the
Optimus 6 series
Critical path surveillance.
These functions allows to comply with the
EN60849 standard.
Loudspeaker line surveillance:
The SU-114N
injects various frequencies into the loudspeaker
line, which it then collects and analyses in order
to detect the status of the line (open line, short
circuit or correct line status).
The frequencies used for this monitoring can be
no audible (20 kHz or 18 kHz) or audible (4 kHz
or 400 Hz).
Constant monitoring (continuous measurement)
is achieved through the use of no audible
frequencies.
Audible frequencies are generally used to confirm
the line faults detected during measurement at
high frequencies.
Surveillance of the power unit status:
The
SU-114N detects the 24 V DC received from the
power
units
through
the
SURVEILLANCE
connection of the amplifier.
Critical path surveillance:
In installations with
an evacuation PA system, this consists in
continuous surveillance of the entire path of the
evacuation signal, from its origin (the capsule of
the MD-500EM desk) to the loudspeaker that
plays the message.
Main characteristics:
Allows the surveillance of Optimus amplifiers
with surveillance connector (UP-66, UP-67,
UP-126, UP-127, UP-246, UP-247, UP-366,
UP-367, UP-67M4, UP-127M4, UP-247M2 and
UP-487).
Triple frontal status indicator for each zone.
Surveillance capacity of 14 zones.
Input contact (MEASURE ACTIVATION), which
allows an external device to activate
measurement at audible frequencies (4 kHz or
400 Hz).
Open collector output contact (MEASURE
INDICATION). This is activated when the SU-
114N is performing surveillance.
Allows the surveillance of lines in installations
with volume attenuators.
Allows the surveillance of lines in installations
with music programs.
PC configuration via Ethernet.
Setting from PC or front keypad.
Double Ethernet connection for installations
with redundant network systems.
Surveillance of unit operation by means of the
PA Manager (SMP-250V2) software or through
the Web browser.
IP address configuration by means of a
Dipswitch and by software, facilitating the
replacement of equipment in an installation.
In installations with backup amplifiers and a
COU-02/0, it interacts with this, ordering the
replacement of the faulty amplifier with the
backup amplifier when an amplifier error is
detected.
24 VDC power supply (power supply not
included).
Occupies one standard 19'' Rack unit.
