Milling machine malfunctions

switched on

Choose a different speed, exces-

Sharpen or replace tool.

Use coolant.
Taper cannot be inserted in
quill.

Remove any dirt, grease or oil
from the internal conical surface of
the spindle sleeve or the taper.

Clean surfaces well.
Keep surfaces free from grease.
The taper cannot be pushed
out.

Taper sleeve has shrunk onto the
cone.

Let the machine run at highest
speed for two minutes to warm it
up and attempt to remove the
taper again.
