The
System
appears unstable.
You have a computer with an AMD Athlon or AMD Sempron processor and
have enabled the PowerPlay function in the ATI Catalyst® Control Center
video control panel.
The
PowerPlay
function is automatically enabled by default, so if your purchase
option includes an
AMD Athlon
or
AMD Sempron
, click to remove the tick
alongside
Enable PowerPlay
(see
Figure B - 12 on page B - 15
) to disable the
function.
If you have an
AMD Athlon
or
AMD Sempron
processor, and have reinstalled
the video driver for any reason, then make sure the
PowerPlay
function is
disabled.
If you change processors from an
AMD Turion
to an
AMD Athlon
or
AMD
Sempron
you will need to reinstall the video driver, and then disable the
PowerPlay
function.
I have
upgraded the CPU
but the system
information in
Windows
still lists the
previously installed cpu as present.
If you change or upgrade CPUs, note that the system information will retain the
information on the CPU installed when the operating system was installed.
If you want the system information to reflect the actual CPU then go to the
System
control panel (
System and Maintenance
) and select
Device Manager
.
Click the “
+
” symbol next to
Processors
and right-click the cpu name and select
Uninstall > OK
. Click
Yes
to restart the computer and the correct cpu name will
now be displayed.
