94 Instruments and controls
If the system is deactivated, the traffic
sign page is cleared, indicated by the
following symbol:
Traffic signs are also cleared during
driving by pushing the SET/CLR
button on the turn signal lever.
Fault
The traffic sign detection system may
not operate correct when:
■ the windshield is not clean
■ traffic signs are covered with snow
or dirt
■ there are bad environmental
conditions like strong rain, snow,
direct sunlight or shadows. In this
case No Traffic Sign Detection due
to Weather is indicated on the
display.
Caution
The system is developed as
memory function to show
designated traffic signs for
a defined route section. Do not let
yourself misled to ignore other
traffic signs which are not
displayed.
Do not let this special feature
tempt you into taking risks when
driving.
Adapt speed always to the road
conditions.
Note
Traffic signs are only properly
detected when they are compliant to
the Vienna Convention.
