7.2 BPM analysis
The first time you display titles in Virtual DJ, the beats per minute (BPM) are not calculated.
1
To analyze the BPM, right-
click with your mouse on the
relevant title. Then select
[
BPM -> Re-Analyze
] or
[
Scan for BPMs
] for a group
of titles.
2
You can also analyze a
complete directory by right-
clicking with your mouse on
the relevant folder in the left
browser section and selecting
[
Scan for BPMs
]
Notes
Always run an extensive BPM analysis in advance and not during a performance. As the BPM analysis
takes up to 1 hour for 120 music files, it is no option shortly before a performance. Rather analyze your
complete hard drive in advance. You do not need to sit in front of your computer while Virtual DJ is
analyzing the files.
Analyzing your entire library is not recommended while mixing with Virtual DJ as the BPM analysis
requires a lot of processing power and you computer will not respond as fast as it should.
Generally, a BPM analysis is accurate. However, if a file is not properly analyzed, you can correct it
manually by entering the BPM rate [
