Operation
Basic adjustments
1)
First set all gain controls, equalizer controls and the crossfader to mid-position.
2)
Use the input selector to select the input to which the audio source is connected.
3)
Feed an audio signal (test signal or music piece) to the channel and advance the channel fader to
approx. 2/3 of its maximum. Set all other channel faders to zero.
4)
To monitor the signal via the speaker of a PA system connected, advance the master control to approx.
2/3 of its maximum. The signal can also be monitored via headphones.
5)
Via the LED meter, control the level of the channel with the corresponding gain control. If the red CLIP
LED of the meter lights up, there is an overload of the channel and the level of the input signal must be
reduced.
6)
Repeat the steps for the other connected input channels as described above.
Crossfading between two channels/mixing the signal sources
1)
The crossfader allows crossfading between channel 2 and 3:
• crossfader moved to the left: fade-in of channel 2 and fade-out of channel 3
• crossfader moved to the right: fade-in of channel 3 and fade-out of channel 2
• For hearing the signals of the two channels at the same level, set the crossfader to mid-position.
2)
For mixing the signal of input channel 1 to the music program, advance the corresponding fader
accordingly.
3)
The selector switch CURVE allows for adjustment of the crossfading characteristic: Use the left position
for sharp crossfading (e.g. for scratching and cutting) and the right position for smooth crossfading (e.g.
for long mixes). Do not use this switch while a signal is present as this may cause a sudden change in
volume.
Announcements via the DJ microphone
Adjust the volume of the microphone announcement with the control MIC LEVEL and optimize the sound
with the tone controls HIGH and LOW.
Prefader listening to the channels
The cue function allows monitoring each of the channels 1-3 via headphones even if the corresponding
channel is faded out. Thus, it is possible, e. g. to time the moment for fading in an audio source. Alternatively
it is also possible to monitor the current music program ahead of the master control.
1)
For prefader listening to a channel, press the corresponding CUE switch (red indicators light up) and set
the control CUE MIX to the left stop position. To monitor the current music program ahead of the master
control, set the control to the right stop position.
2)
Adjust the desired headphone volume with the control CUE LEVEL.
3)
To indicate the monitor level via the LED meter, set the corresponding switch to position CUE.
