Safety Instructions

Before using C-Probe 1, please read the following safety instructions
carefully.

Without a detailed knowledge about the safety instructions, C-Probe 1 may
not be set into operation!

C-Probe 1 may only be operated by authorized personnel.

2.1

Principle Rules for Usage

• C-Probe 1 should only be used when in a technically sound condition. Its

use should be in accordance with the regulations, in a safe manner, and
mindful of the dangers. In particular, avoid disruptions that could in turn
affect safety.

• C-Probe 1 is exclusively intended for the measurement of DC and AC

currents within the ranges specified in this operation manual (refer to 3.3
“Input and Output Quantities” on page 10)
. Any other use is deemed as
not being according to the regulations. The manufacturer/distributor are
not liable for damage resulting from unintended usage. The user alone
assumes all responsibility and risk.

• Adhering to the instructions provided in this operations manual is also

considered part of being accordance with the regulations.

2.2 Safety

Operation

• Never use the current clamp at substations which carry a potential higher

than 600 V with respect to earth!

• Never put the current clamp around any live wires if it is not connected to

a measurement device!

• When grasping cables or current busbars with the current clamp, make

sure that they are well-centered and perpendicular to the clamp!

• Keep the enclosed wire as far as possible from adjacent wires to prevent

distortions due to magnetical interference fields!

• When replacing the battery, the current clamp power switch has to be in

the "OFF" position and the clamp must be separated from busbar and
the measurement device!

• Do not use the current clamp if it is damaged or you detect indications of

a possible defect! This may be hazardous to life.
