Reprocessing
2. Immerse the product in enzyme-based detergent for at least
20 min.
3. Thoroughly rinse the product and all gaps at least 10 times
with enzyme-based detergent using a syringe of at least
10 ml.
4. Thoroughly brush all gaps at least 10 times with an
appropriate surface brush.
Do not touch optical surfaces with the brush.
5. Wipe the eyepiece cover glass and objective cover class with
a cotton swab that has been moistened with 70% ethanol
solution.
Do not wipe with a metal cotton applicator.
6. Thoroughly rinse the product and all gaps at least 10 times
with fresh enzyme-based detergent using a syringe of at least
10 ml.
7. Thoroughly rinse the product with deionized water using a
cleaning pistol or other rinse device for at least 30 s.
The cleaning pistol or other rinse device must be suitable for
cleaning medical devices and deliver a minimum pressure of
1 bar (14.5 psi).
8. Dry the product.
7.3.2 Cleaning procedure for protective tube
Manual cleaning of the protective tube has been validated with
the following detergent:
- Cidezyme LF 4% manufactured by Johnson & Johnson
1. Remove the telescope from the protective tube.
2. Immerse the product in enzyme-based detergent for at least
5 min.
3.
Thoroughly flush all lumens at least 10 times with enzyme-
based detergent using a syringe of at least 10 ml.
4. Thoroughly brush all lumens with an appropriate brush.
5. Thoroughly brush all surfaces at least 20 times with an
appropriate surface brush.
