ATTACHING THE STRAP

Pass the short end of the strap through the eyelet.

Pass the long end of the strap through the loop.

Pull tight and check that the strap is securely attached.
Caution
Attach the strap correctly as instructed above. Olympus can not provide warranty
or assume any liability for damage resulting from the camera being accidentally
dropped because the strap has not been attached correctly.
LOADING THE BATTERIES

Check the following.
• The lens barrier is closed.
• The orange lamp is off.
• The monitor is off.

Slide the battery compartment cover toward
A
and lift it up in the
direction of
B
.

Insert the batteries as shown, making sure that they are correctly
oriented.

Push down the battery compartment cover in the direction of
C
and
close firmly by pressing the
mark in the direction of
D
until it
clicks.
Note
• If the camera is left for about 1 hour with the batteries removed, all the settings
will revert to the default settings.
• When powering the camera by batteries, if the batteries start to run low, the
battery indication will be displayed in red. When the batteries are close to
exhaustion, the LCD monitor turns off and the green lamp and the orange lamp
blink simultaneously.
