Using the Guillotine
c
aution
! Risk of cuts through sharp-edged guillotine blade. The guillotine blade is very
sharp! Never reach in towards or take hold of the guillotine blade.
1
Release the locking mechanism (8) holding the guillotine arm.
2
Move the guillotine arm upwards.
3
Place the material to be cut under the pressing rail and press the rail downwards.
4
Then use your other hand to move the guillotine arm down and produce the cut.
The guillotine is equipped with a special screw to secure it from dropping uninten
-
tionally or suddenly. This means the blade always remains at the position in which
it is released. The function of the screw between the blade and base of the
guillotine can deteriorate. Check it regularly. Tighten the screw using an appropri

ate tool at regular intervals so that the guillotine blade does not drop of its own
accord
If Problems Occur
The following information should provide help if something is not working as would be expected.
Clearing Pouch Jams
If you inadvertently feed the laminating pouch into the laminator at an angle, or if the rollers are
soiled with too much residual adhesive, or if you try to laminate unsuitable materials, laminating
pouches can jam inside the laminator. Use the
ABS
(jam release) function to clear a pouch jam
quickly.
1
Switch the ON/OFF switch to
oFF
2
Disconnect the power plug from the power socket.
3
Press the lever for the
ABS
(jam release) function on the rear of the device to the right and
hold it there. This releases the laminating pouch.
c
aution
! Risk of burns due to hot machine surface! During hot laminating, the
machine surface heats up. Do not touch the machine surface during laminating
operation. Wait a few minutes after laminating until the laminator has cooled down
before you touch the device surface.
4
Carefully pull the laminating pouch out of the feed side of the laminator.
The laminator must be cleaned following a pouch jam. Clean the laminator as described in Sec
