2.5 Film Mode
Film Mode:
Movies are recorded on film at a rate of
24 pictures, or frames, per second. Many of the
movies on BD discs are placed on the disc at this
frame rate. However, not all TVs can display 24
progressive frames/second of video. The left/right
menu keys can then be used to select Off or On for
24 frames/second output format.
Note:
Only the HDMI output of the player is capable
of supporting 1080p video output at any frame rate.
The component outputs are limited to 1080i, regardless
of the Film Mode setting.

3.1 Digital Output
Digital Output:
set the digital audio outputs, such as
PCM Stereo, Passthru, Passthru Core, RE-Encode
DTS, PCM 5.1, PCM 7.1, Setting these outputs
correctly depends on whether you have a surround-
sound receiver connected to the BD player, and the
capabilities of the surround sound receiver.
Note:
If you have a 5.1/7.1 audio system and the
receiver does not support bass management (setting
the cutoff frequency of the subwoofer and the size of
the other speakers), you may want to consider using
multichannel analog outputs from the BD player (if
available) in order to benefit from the bass manage-
ment capabilities of the BD player.
