Problem Solutions
You are informed: “No
adapter found” Make sure there is an Ethernet MCA Adapter in the
computer.
Make sure the adapter is seated firmly in the slot.
LINK LED (light
green) does not light.
(The status LEDs are
described in figure 7 on
page 52). Make sure you have loaded the network drivers.
Check all connections at the adapter and the hub.
Try another port on the hub.
Make sure that the hub and adapter ports are config-
ured for the correct speed, 10 or 100 Mbps.
If the adapter is connected to a switch, check that the
adapter duplex setting is correct.
ACTIVITY LED (yel-
low) does not light.

page 52). Make sure you have loaded the network drivers.
Check the network protocols on the server and the cli-
ent.
If the adapter is connected to a switch, check that the
adapter duplex setting is correct.
Check all connections at the adapter and the hub.
Try another port on the hub.
Make sure that you are using Category 5 cabling.
Data is corrupted or
sporadic at 100 Mbps. Make sure that you are using Category 5 cabling.
Diagnostics are OK, but
the network connection
fails. Make sure that the network cable is securely con-
nected.
Make sure that you are using Category 5 cabling for
100 Mbps.
Check that the cable media is correct and that the cable
is connected to an attachment unit.
Check the network protocols on the server and the cli-
ent.
Make sure the correct frame is used (Novell NetWare
only).
