Safety
WARNING:
Ensure the installation of the transmitter meets applicable
state and National Electrical Code requirements. For safety reason, the
WT-H2S must be operated and serviced by qualified personnel only. Read
and understand the User Guide in its entirety before operating or
servicing.
WARNING:
The WT-H2S only monitors the immediate vicinity of
the sensor housing. A site survey must be performed to
determine the best location and quantity of transmitters.
Improper installation can lead to an undetectable gas leak which
could result in injury or loss of life.
WARNING
: When connecting an external alarm device to the WT-
H2S in a hazardous area, ensure that the external device is
installed in accordance with Intrinsically Safe or non-incendive
field wiring practices.
CAUTION
: It is important and recommended that calibration
occur as part of the installation process, and then on a regularly
basis, per your organization’s best practices policy, to ensure
proper functionality and a safe work environment.
WARNING:
Replacement battery MUST ONLY be the 3.6 Volt Lithium
Battery Pack, SX1000-BP3, supplied by OleumTech. The use of any other
battery or battery packs may negatively affect device performance, void
the device warranty, and may result in an explosion.
WARNING:
To prevent static discharge, wipe with damp cloth only.
WARNING:
To prevent ignition of flammable or combustible atmospheres,
disconnect power before servicing.
WARNING
: Although the transmitter is very durable, do not install it on
high vibration applications or where transmitter is subject to severe
mechanical shock.
CAUTION:
Disconnect the battery when the device is not in use.
WARNING:
Monitor battery power level and replace the Battery Pack as
soon as possible when it reaches ≤ 2.90 Vdc. If no replaced promptly, the
transmitter may not function properly.
WARNING:
Verify that the atmosphere around the transmitter is
consistent with the appropriate hazardous location certifications.
CAUTION:
All housing entries MUST be tightly SEALED using thread seal
tape or sealant. Failure to seal all port entries may allow moisture to enter
the transmitter housing, cause damage to internal components, and void
warranty.
CAUTION:
All housing covers MUST be tightly fastened to protect against
external environmental elements.
