The Add New Hardware Wizard (USB
Printer) does not appear when the USB interface
cable is connected.
Please check the following:
1.
Make sure that the USB interface cable is prop-
erly connected to your printer and to your PC,
and the printer is turned on.
2.
Make sure that the ‘
Unknown Devices
’ is not
listed in the Device Manager section of System
Properties. To check this, follow these steps:
a
Right-click
My Computer
and select
Prop-
erties
.
b
In the
System Properties
window that
appears, select the
Device Manager
tab.

Click
View devices by type
to display all
installed devices.
d
If
‘Other devices’
exists, you need to delete
it.
e
Double-click
Other devices
to view details,
click
Unknown Device
, and then click
Remove
button.
f
Click
OK
to remove the Unknown Device
from your system, and then insert the USB
interface cable to your computer.

If for some reason your first installation attempt
is unsuccessful, try the following procedure.
a
Unplug the USB interface cable from your
computer.
b
Place the OKI DP-5000 Setup Disc in your
CD-ROM drive. From the Windows Start
menu, choose
Run
. In the dialog box that
appears, type the following:
D:\driv-
ers\usb\English\MDULPTUN.EXE
(Where
D: is the letter of your CDROM drive)

The
Confirm Uninstall
window will appear.
Click
Yes
to uninstall the USB port monitor.
d
When the Windows prompts you to restart
your computer, click
Yes.
e
Now proceed from Step 4 of the ‘Installing
the USB Printer Driver’ section.
