Appropriate use
The SIRIUS child seat is designed and approved to carry children weighing from 9
to 22 kg and/or from nine months to 6 years of age. The child must be capable of
setting upright on his own before using this seat. The child seat can be fitted on
to bicycles or bicycles with assisted pedalling by an electric motor; fitting it on to
a two-wheeled vehicle other than bicycles (such as scooters, motorcycles, mopeds
etc.) does not comply with regulations and is therefore inadmissible. The child
seat is mounted onto the bicycle frame column tube under the saddle, behind the
rider as illustrated in the assembly instructions. All other use is forbidden.

Before using the seat the first time:
After installing the seat and placed the child inside it, become familiar with
the bicycle and make sure you realize that the balances and weights have
changed, before going on to the road.
Before setting off on every ride:
1) Check the support arm: It must be fixed in the right position. Check that
the fastening block safety button has clicked correctly into the two slots on
the support arm. Pull the support arm upwards to make sure it is well secu-
red.
2) Check the tightness of the screws of the fastening block. It must not
move and/or move on the frame. Check this at regular intervals.
3) Make sure that the child seat once installed does not interfere with the
operation of the brakes and that the moving parts of the bicycle – pedals
and rear wheel – do not come into contact with the seat.
4) Failure to use the safety belt endangers the child
ʼ
s life! Always fasten the
safety belts, even if it is only a very short ride. The belts must be comfortab-
le, but without sliding off the shoulders. If the seat is empty, fasten the belt
otherwise it could become entangled in any obstacles. Always fasten the foot
straps so that the child cannot get free.
5) The seat and the padding can get hot if exposed to the sun for a long
period. Make sure that neither are not too hot before putting the child in the
seat.
6) Make sure that the child and its clothing cannot come into contact with
the moving parts of the bicycle, in particular the child
ʼ
s feet with the wheels,
the fingers with the brake mechanisms and the support springs of the bicyc-
le saddle. Check these points periodically as the child grows.
7) Make sure that the child cannot come into contact with any sharp objects
on the bicycle, for example frayed or deteriorated brake cables.
During the ride:
Never park the bicycle leaving the child in the seat, even if the position of
the bicycle seems stable. If the child is in the seat, the bicycle must always
be held by the rider. Remember that the child perceives the weather diffe-
rently (wind, cold etc.) as it is not moving. Protect the child with suitable
clothing.
