Testing with Filter
Paper
While the test cell in this filter press is designed for testing with ceramic disks,
it can also test with filter paper. In this case, use the spacer to fill the ¼"
space where the ceramic disk would go.
1.
Prepare the cell caps, cell body, and valve stems as described in step 2
2.
Place an o-ring into the recess in the spacer and place the spacer into the
cell body with the o-ring facing up.
3. Insert the scribed cell cap (#170-69) into the cell and secure it in place
with the six locking screws.
4. Screw a valve stem into the cell cap and tighten it completely.
5.
Invert the cell body and pour the sample into the cell as described in step
6. Place an o-ring in the cell and another on the screened cap.
7.
Place a circle of filter paper into the cell on top of the o-ring.
