USING THE CHARGER
The charging process will start after a few seconds
and a yellow LED will light up to indicate the first
stage of charging.
The yellow LED will be lit until the battery is fully
charged.
When the battery is fully charged the green LED
will light up and the charger automatically goes into
maintenance charging mode.
The charger will stay in maintenance charging
mode until the charger is disconnected from the
battery or it is unplugged.
The charger should only be disconnected when
the green LED is lit. The red LED will light up when
the charger detects an error in the operation.
To restart the charger disconnect from the mains,
then reconnect.
WARNING!
Always switch off the charger before
disconnecting the battery. If the battery is
disconnected without switching off the charger,
sparks may be produced.
CHARGING INDICATORS
INDICATOR
EVENT
First Yellow Diode
The charging process starts with maximum power (I-Phase). The current drops
as the battery is recharged. The charging time is determined by the battery size
and the depth of discharge.
Second Yellow
Diode
When the threshold value (BR) is reached, the internal timer starts the absorption
phase of the charging process. This phase keeps the charger at a higher
charging voltage (14.4V) for 4 hours. This ensures recharge and equalizes
the charge across all battery cells. This action also prevents sulphation of the
battery.
Green Diode
Maintenance phase, where the voltage drops to 13.7V. This phase keeps the
battery fully charged and the charger can be left switched on in this position over
time.
Possible parallel load or consumption is supplied from the charger and the
battery is kept fully charged. The battery charger can provide full power in this
phase.
