7.5.4.3 Input New Contact Lens Types / [Lens geometry ->]
This window is used to display and add to the
geometries of contact lenses which have already
been stored.
After selection of a manufacturer and lens type (in
the "Lens Type" box), all contact lenses of that type
are listed. The full and abbreviated designations of
the manufacturer and lens type are also displayed.
It is also possible to create a new lens type
[New lens type]
,
or to delete an existing lens type including the
contact lens data
[Delete lens type]
,
or to change the name of a lens type
[Change
name]
.

New lens type:
Clicking the
[New lens type]
button causes the
following window to appear:
Now the name of the manufacturer and the lens
type can be either entered or selected from the
list if they are already in the computer’s memory.
The corresponding abbreviations must also be
entered.
Abbreviations are used in the list of
recommendations for contact lens fitting because
only limited space is available here.
Once all designations have been entered, the
new lens type is created by clicking
[New]
. The
new lens type now apears in the main display
window, but contact lens data are not yet present.

Delete lens type:
The selected contact lens type can be deleted
together with its contact lens data by clicking the
[Delete lens type]
button. The manufacturer’s
name is also deleted if this is the last lens type
which is listed for that manufacturer.

Change name:
The name of a contact lens type and/or
manufacturer (together with the abbreviations)
can be changed by means of the
[Change name]
button. A new input box is displayed for this
purpose. The changes are implemented by
clicking the
[Change]
box after new data have
been entered.
Individual lenses can also be modified after they
have been selected in the list. Use the
[Change]
button to change the data of a lens and the
[Delete]
button to delete a selected lens.
