PHOTOS 168 & 169. Paint the two zodiacs (125) red and grey and then make up and fit the seats (126).
PHOTOS 170 - 172. Make up the supports (127), round off the ends and paint them white. Fix one zodiac onto each support
using the lashings (128). Now fix the zodiacs onto the structure of the ship.
PHOTO 173. Paint the life rings (129) red and white and then glue them onto the uprights of the forecastle deck guard rails.
PHOTO 174. Paint the four double bitts white and glue them onto the forecastle deck, approximately as shown in the photo.
PHOTO 175. Glue together and paint the parts (109 & 110) white and then glue them onto the quarter deck, one on each side of
the deck.
PHOTO 176. Paint the 8 windows (85) white and then glue 4 of them onto each side of the fore deckhouse.
PHOTOS 177 & 178. Make up a pinrack (131) for 4 belaying pins (J) and attach 2 columns (132). Pin and glue the pinrack to
the forecastle deck, and then insert the 4 belaying pins.
PHOTO 179. Using a pencil mark out an interior square on the bases (133) and then, using brass wire, make up and attach the
handrails (134).
PHOTOS 180 - 182. Bend the legs of the ladders (101) as shown and attach one to each base (133). Then paint the stairs
white. Paint the two gratings (135) cream and fix them to the ladders. Make up and fix the handrails (136) and then glue one of
the assemblies to each side of the ship.
PHOTO 183. Paint and glue a davit (137) onto each side of the ship. Make up the cables (138) and attach them to the ladders.
PHOTO 184. Line the wheel housing (139) using the lining (140) and then trim off any excess lining using a cutter.
PHOTOS 185 & 186. Line the wheel housing roof using the sheets (141). Cut to size and fit the parts (142) into place. Varnish
the assembly obtained.
PHOTO 187. Take one of the wheels (143) and highlight in gold the parts shown in the photo and then glue it to a shaft (144).
PHOTO 188. Make a hole in the front of the wheel housing and insert the wheel shaft into it. Paint the 2 gratings (135) brown
and attach them to the side of the housing at the front.
PHOTO 189. Glue the wheel housing structure onto the centre of the quarter deck, as shown in the photo. Paint and attach the
parts (108, 129, 145, 146, 147 & 148) as shown in the photo.
PHOTOS 190 & 191. Make up sections of grating and cut them to size as shown in the photo, then cut to size and attach the
frames for the two sections obtained. Glue the two gratings onto the quarter deck.
PHOTOS 192 & 193. Apply glue to and attach the parts (150, 151, 152, 153, 154 & 155) to make up the stern deckhouse.
PHOTO 194. Line the roof of the stern deckhouse using the sheet (156). Cut to size and attach the frames (157) and then paint
the stern deckhouse white and varnish the roof.
PHOTO 195. Make up and attach the stern deckhouse baseboards (34).
PHOTOS 196 - 198. Paint and attach the parts (85, 101, 158, 159 & 160). Now make up and attach the parts (161 & 162). Glue
the stern deckhouse into place centred between part (146) and part (148).
PHOTOS 199 - 201. Paint the wheel samson posts (164) ochre and four sections of grating (164) brown. Glue the gratings onto
the samson posts. Decorate the other 3 wheels (143) and fix them to the samson posts (164), as shown, using a shaft (165).
Glue another section of grating (135) in front of the wheel.
PHOTOS 202 & 203. Make up a pinrack (166) and mount it on 2 columns (132). Glue the wheel assembly centred onto the
deck as shown in the photo. Now glue the pinrack at a distance of 10 mm from the wheel. Fix one belaying pin (J) into each hole
in the pinrack. Now decorate and attach the bunker pipes (167) and then paint and glue 4 windows (85) onto the front of the
stern deckhouse.
PHOTOS 204 & 205. Insert 4 pins (A) into the base (168). Then paint the binnacle (169) as shown and attach it to the base.
Glue the binnacle on its base to the centre of the deck, at a distance of 10 mm from the wheel, as shown.
PHOTOS 206 & 207. Glue the mast hole (171) into place. Paint and attach 2 of the hatches (170) at the distances indicated in
the photo. Make up and glue the base (172) centred on the mast hole and the windlass.
PHOTOS 208 - 210. Glue the part (173) to the part (97) and then both parts centred on part (172). Now, cut to size and fix the
windlass poles (174), as shown in the photo.
PHOTOS 211 & 212. Paint the parts (175, 176 & 177) and glue them into place on the aft deckhouse roof, as shown in the
photo.
PHOTO 213. Paint the drawbar (178) white and then insert an eyebolt (B) into one end and fix the eyebolt to the deck.
PHOTOS 214 - 216. Make up and fix the 2 bases (179) using the pins (A). Decorate the running lights (180) as shown and glue
them into place on the bases.
PHOTOS 217 - 219. Make up and fix the parts (181, 182 and 183) to form the hoists and paint them white. Now make up and fix
the parts (184, 185, B & L). Paint the details red and green as shown.
PHOTOS 220 & 221. Cut to size, paint and fix the ladders (101) as shown. Now glue the hoists into position as shown in the
photo. Decorate and glue the 2 bunker pipes (167) as shown.
PHOTO 222. Decorate and glue the parts (186 & 187) centred in front of the binnacle.
PHOTO 223. Glue the parts (188 & 189) together and paint them white, then fix them onto the deck, as shown.
PHOTO 224. Cut 6 lengths of hatch cover sheet (190) and fit them 2 mm above the bottom rubbing strake, as shown in the
photo. Glue another 6 into place in the same way on the other side of the hull.
PHOTO 225. Make up and fix the bell support structure using the parts (191, 192 & 193). Glue them centred in front of the
windlass.
