generating event codes from OCCO’s online system is that the system also generates unique
links for each of those codes, which represent individual micro-albums associated with
corresponding codes. This means that if you give ticket holders this link – they can access their
private albums at a later time.
2.
Advanced. Generate your own codes and use OCCO’s Automation feature to invoke a custom
script you write that presumably uploads photos to your own storage system. OCCO will pass
along the QR code it reads to the script so you can implement any custom upload logic.
Note! Codes generated from the Event editing console are e-mailed to you in plain text. It is your
responsibility to generate the actual QR code “image”, as well as print physical tickets (or incorporate
the QR image in your custom mobile app, if that’s the mode you prefer). Any number of applications can
be used to generate QR image from text, and the comma-separated (CSV) format is quite easy to parse if
you’d like to automate the ticket printing process.
Advanced Tip. If you are using HotFolders, you can instruct OCCO to upload files dropped into hot
folders to be associated with the same codes that unlock OCCO. This is useful in cases when you have
roaming photographers who take photos of attendees and you’d like those photos to end up in the
same micro album as pictures taken by OCCO. To do so – all you have to do is to make sure that the files
you drop into hot folders end with _uid_ string followed by the code, e.g. IMG8945_uid_jkqm-brtg-
dvfg.jpg. Here, the picture will be uploaded into the micro album for code “jkqm-brtg-dvfg”.
Managing storage space
Brand new OCCO has enough disk space to store many 1000s of full resolution photos. This is a lot,
considering that an average 3-5 hour party results in 200-500 images. However, the space will eventually
run out, and its best to always keep ample free space on the hard drive of OCCO’s PC.
Before each event or a deployment – it is advisable to check and, if necessary, free up space by moving
old pictures from C:\OCCO\Photos to another PC or an online album.
Wireless remote control of actuation and picture-taking (2019 Model IC only)
In some cases, you may want to
remotely control the physical position of
OCCO’s head, or trigger the camera. We
do not advise using it as a means to “do
a better job at picture taking than OCCO
can” – as that will almost certainly not
work, but there is a remote control
feature baked into software, and we
need to briefly mention it.
Using remote control is easy. While the
live screen is on, and OCCO is
tracking/photographic people –use the
included wireless keyboard to override
autonomy and turn the head left/right/up/down as well as to trigger a picture-taking sequence. The
arrow buttons move the head, and the space bar triggers the shot.
