When the water reaches the selected temperature, the kettle automatically
turns off and you will hear two beeps.
The appliance automatically turns off each time the carafe is lifted from the
contact plate. This prevents unintentional heating when the appliance is put
back on the contact plate. If you briefly remove the carafe from the contact
plate when under operation, e.g., to refill with water, remember to restart the
appliance. Always disconnect the plug when not using the kettle.
IMPORTANT!
The lid must always remain securely closed when using the
kettle, otherwise the automatic shut-off function will not be activated and
there is a risk that water will boil over or spray out. If the shut-off function
becomes irregular (the kettle turns off too soon or too late), the kettle should
be descaled (see the section on descaling later in these instructions).
Heat holding
If you want the kettle to switch to heat-holding function after boiling, first
select the desired temperature, then press and hold the power switch for 2-3
seconds until you hear one beep and the selected temperature light starts
flashing. The heat-holding function is now activated and will keep the water
heated for 30 minutes after boiling.
USE CAUTION!
The kettle’s shell gets very hot during use and condensation
can form on the kettle handle.
PLEASE NOTE!
If the kettle is accidentally started without water, it will
automatically switch off. Fill the kettle with water and start it according to the
previous instructions.
WARNING!
Risk for scalding, never open the lid during use.
If desired, the kettle can be switched off manually by lifting the kettle off the
base plate, switching it off with the power switch or pulling out the plug.
IMPORTANT!
Always pull out the plug after use.
Re-calcification/boil-dry protection
The kettle is equipped with a dual safety system:
If the kettle’s bottom is covered by lime deposits, started while empty, or
boils until dry, boil-dry protection is activated and the kettle switches off
automatically. If this occurs, check to see if there are excess lime deposits
on the bottom of the kettle and decalcify if necessary. Then try to re-start the
kettle filled with water.
If the kettle still turns off before the water reaches boiling, return the appliance
to the place of purchase.
