Lime filter
The carafe is equipped with a lime filter that is placed in a filter holder in
the pour spout. The filter can be easily removed for cleaning by opening the
carafe’s lid and gently lifting the filter out of the filter holder. The limescale can
then be easily removed by scrubbing lightly with a dish brush under running
water, or by placing it in a descaling solution for a few minutes, e.g., while the
carafe is descaling. After cleaning, put the filter back into the filter holder and
press it gently into place.
Descaling
The kettle must be descaled regularly. Indications that descaling is needed are
longer boiling times or switching off prematurely.
• Do not boil more water than you need in order to save power and shorten
boiling times. Be sure to empty the carafe after each use to reduce
accumulation of lime deposits.
• Check regularly for limescale buildup, and if descaling is needed, pour in
enough white vinegar (or ättika in Sweden) to cover the bottom and allow
to stand for a few hours. Empty and rinse thoroughly with water before use.
• If there is a significant buildup of limescale, you should use descaling
agents, citric acid or similar products that are commercially available to
you. It is important to follow the descaling instructions on the package and
remember to fill and boil the kettle a few times after descaling and discard
the water. Alternatively, you can descale by filling the carafe half way
with water and adding the juice of one lemon. Heat the mixture to boiling
(100°C) and allow to stand for 15 minutes. Boil the mixture 3 times in total
allowing it to stand for 15 minutes each time. Then empty the carafe and
rinse thoroughly.
• Repeat the descaling process if necessary and descale the kettle more
frequently as needed.
IMPORTANT!
Do not use sharp objects to remove lime deposits as this may
damage the appliance. If the appliance is not decalcified on a regular basis it
may become inoperative. Damage caused in this manner is not covered under
the scope of the claim period.
The kettle’s shell can be cleaned with a damp cloth and wiped dry. Do not use
abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents. Neither the appliance nor its contact
plate can be washed in a dishwasher.
Disposal of the appliance
Legislation requires that all electrical and electronic equipment shall be
collected for reuse and recycling. Electrical and electronic equipment
marked with the symbol indicating separate collection of such equipment
must be returned to a municipal waste collection point.
