WATER COOLER MODEL
POU1AQ SERIES
INSTRUCTIONS
1.
INSPECTION --
Inspect the carton and water cooler for evidence of rough handling and
concealed damage. Damage claims should be filed with the carrier.
2.
MAINTENANCE
a. Inspect the condenser for dirt and lint every three months. If cleaning is required,
disconnect the power supply cord, then clean the condenser with a small stiff non-wire
brush. Observance of this procedure will ensure adequate air circulation through the
condenser for efficient and economical operation.
b. A cone shaped strainer can be found in the tube leading into the mechanical float valve
on the reservoir lid. It can be removed and flushed clean. Be sure to replace it in the
tube once cleaned.
3.
OVERLOAD PROTECTION --
The compressor motor is equipped with an automatic reset
protector which will disconnect the motor from the line in case of an overload.
4.
LUBRICATION --
This unit is equipped with a hermetically sealed compressor which does
not require any additional lubrication.
5.
TO PUT WATER COOLER INTO SERVICE
a. The water cooler should be located a minimum of 2" (50mm) from the wall to assure
adequate condenser air circulation.
b. If filter(s) are to be added, follow filter manufacturer’s recommended instructions. The
easiest way to remove the access door, if desired, is to pull at the hand hold, then with
the palm of your hand, tap the cabinet side about 6” (15cm) up from the base as shown
in dimensional drawing.
c. Prepare reservoir using the following steps:
1)
Remove reservoir from unit or, if preferred, plug hot tank inlet tube with a 1/2”
(13mm) mean diameter cork
2)
Clean inside of reservoir with a mild dish soap solution
3)
Rinse thoroughly with filtered water.
4)
Mix a solution of 1/2 teaspoon (3ml) of Clorox
®
to one (1) gallon (3.78L) of water.
5)
Wipe down the inside of the reservoir with the solution. NOTE: Gloves should be
worn during this procedure.
6)
Rinse the reservoir with filtered water.
7)
Completely fill the reservoir with filtered water. Drain reservoir through faucets.
8)
Drain the water from any applicable tanks.
9)
Reservoir is now ready for use.
d. Remove blue plug from “inlet” fitting on the back of the cooler. Push a 1/4” OD copper
tube into the fitting. Connect to cold water supply.
