SMART
FEATURES
The ERC 3P has features used to detect the status of the Precice implants during therapy. This
section provides a summary of these detection features:
Coupling Detection:
The ERC 3P is capable of detecting the implant magnet rotation during
therapy and providing feedback to the clinician of this condition. During the therapy
session, the implant length displayed will change based on this condition.
Uncoupled Detection:
The ERC 3P can detect if the implant magnet is not rotating or is not
present and provide feedback to the user of this condition. During the therapy session, the
implant length displayed will not change based on this condition.
Stall Detection:
When the implant is coupled with the ERC 3P and an implant stall occurs, the
ERC 3P will detect this condition and provide feedback to the user. The implant length
displayed will not change based on this condition.
The Smart Features of the ERC 3P for will function properly when used within the range for
each compatible Precice implant. Reference the range of each Precice System in the
Contraindications section.
Note: Stall Detection is not supported during shortening for compression.
