1. Press the front and the rear of the lid firmly
downwards until you hear a ‘click’. Release the
lid and let the filter unit move upwards of its
own accord.
2. Rotate the lid into the desired position based
on the amount and the direction of the fumes
the unit is to suck in.
To switch off the UP_SIDE, make sure the lid is
in a horizontal position and press the filter case
downwards until you hear a ‘click.’ The UP_SIDE’s
motor switches off.
Maintenance
Maintaining the grease filter
The UP_SIDE has a metal grease filter which, de-
pending on how often the unit is used, must be
cleaned at least twice a month.
Accessing the grease filter
To remove the grease filter from the UP_SIDE, re-
move the whole filter case from the unit.
1. Place the filter case in the highest position.
Hold the lid with both hands and pull the whole
filter case out of the UP_SIDE. The UP_SIDE’s
motor switches off as soon as the filter case is
removed from the exhaust unit.
2. Remove the lid from the filter case by rotating
it 180°.
3. The grease filter is now accessible and can be
removed from the filter case. NEVER place the
filter holder on a hot surface!
The filter can be cleaned in two ways:
a) In the dishwasher
b) Manually, by immersing the filter in a mixture of
boiling water and grease-cutting dishwashing
liquid. Rinse the filter under the tap with warm
water and leave it to dry.
The inside of the filter case is best cleaned with a
mixture of warm water and a cleaning agent.
Important! If the above maintenance instructions
are not followed, residue in the filter can cause a
fire.
