Retrofitting a ME500 power
supply
Until approx. 03/2014, the HME PS 450 po-
wer supply (brief „HME“) was installed in
DPM/PEM machines, afterwards the
ME500 power supply took its place. If a
HME turns out to be defective in the future,
it must be replaced by a ME500. Regarding
the electrical connections, this can easily
be done. The machanic integration requi-
res some additional parts, which are conta-
ined in a retrofitting kit [216].


The exchange procedure can be devided
into the following steps, which are descri-
bed in detail in the following:
1. Dismantling the defective HME.
2. Preparing the new ME500.
3. (RH only) Preparing the housing.
4. Installing the ME500.
5. Connecting the ME500.
Tools:

2.5/3mm allen key
•
Size 1 and 2 cross-head screwdrivers
•
Hex socket wrench, size 5.5
•
Side-cutting pliers
Dismantling the defective HME

For instructions see chapter Exchanging
the HME power supply on page 97.
Preparing the new ME500
1. (If the bracket is mounted) unscrew the
fixing bracket [216I].
2. Use the screws and lock washers from
step 1 to screw the fixing bracket [216F] to
the power supply as illustrated [217A].

The fixing bracket must touch the long side
of the power supply.
3. Stick the two cable clamps to the power
supply as illustrated [217B].
4. (RH only) Stick the two cable sockets to
the power supply as illustrated [217C].

The orange marked parts are not necessary for installation in
the DPM/PEM.
