Installing the Public Key
After you download the public key, copy it to the appropriate install directory of the end-user device:
32-bit:
C:\program files\spoon\cert
64-bit:
C:\program files (x86)\spoon\cert
You need to manually create the appropriate install directory, unless you attempted to launch a
streamed application before you deployed the certificate. If you did this, the directory already exists.
NOTE:
If you previously used the evaluation public key and now you want to use a purchased key,
remove the public key from your devices and replace it with the purchased key. This precaution
protects the security of your devices.
Any application configuration files you previously generated with the evaluation key need to be re-
generated when the purchased public key replaces the evaluation public key.
Installing the Private Key
Copy the private key (
ZAV80-NOV-0000.xml
) to a secure location on the Web server. Copying it to
an insecure location might allow the fraudulent creation of valid license certificates and
configuration files, which is an opening for malware to be streamed to your users.
6.2.4 Adding Applications to the Server
Making new applications available on the Spoon Standalone server requires adding the
.svm
or
streaming files to the Web server and creating a configuration file that references the application.
This section includes the following information:
“Adding Streaming Files to the Web Server” on page 32
“Creating an Application Configuration File” on page 33
Adding Streaming Files to the Web Server
After you use ZENworks Application Virtualization to package and profile the application you want
to stream, create a folder on the Web server to host the files.
Example Path for a Streamed Application:
http://
site
/
site_root
/layers/
application_name
/
version
__
revision
/xstream/
model_revision
/
A concrete example of a path for a streamed application might be
http://www.mysite.com/spoon/layers/firefox/3.5.0.8__0/xstream/0/
Example Path for a Non-Streamed Application:
http://
site
/
site_root
/layers/
application_name
/
version
__
