Engine Emits black Clogged or dirty air cleaner • Service air cleaner.
or gray Exhaust Smoke
Defective muffler • Have dealer check back pressure.
(back pressure too high)
Improper fuel • Use correct fuel for temperature.
Injection nozzles dirty • See your dealer.
Engine timing off • See your dealer.
Engine Emits Improper fuel • Use correct fuel for temperature.
White Smoke
Cold engine • Warm up engine to normal operating
temperature.
Defective thermostat • Remove and check thermostat.
Engine timing off • See your dealer.
