The Ethernet Base Module performs central processing functions for the 4400. It
must be present in the lowest slot (LIM A) for the unit to function. This module
includes the following:
• processor and memory
• serial access port
• managment port
• ethernet interfaces (AUI or 10BaseT)
• optional plug-in interface modules.
