When you receive a direct mode call,
, the speaker’s number or name, and the
names of the channel and group are displayed. If the speaker’s number or name is
not available,
Call
is displayed.
If the connection to the transmitting radio is lost,
Connection lost
is displayed.
Respond to a direct mode call
Press and hold the PTT key while the channel and group names are displayed.
To queue for your turn to talk during a call, press and hold the PTT key. A queuing
tone is played while you are in the queue. You can start speaking after a short tone
is played and
appears on the display. To stop queuing, release the PTT key.
Voice override
With voice override (network service), you can override the communication in the
group and avoid the need to queue for your turn to speak. If you have a right to
use voice override, the selection key
Overrid.
is available when the radio receives a
direct mode call.
To request for voice override, press
Overrid.
, and press and hold the PTT key. You
can start speaking after a short tone is played and
appears on the display.
Mute the call temporarily
When the radio is receiving a direct mode call, you can mute the call for a
predefined time (0-60 seconds) by pressing
.
