How to limit access
to your network
To protect your home network by limiting
access of people outside of your network,
set up the following security options:
■
DMZ
■
ALG
■
Firewall
DMZ and ALG
A demilitarized zone (DMZ) is a firewall
configuration to improve the security of
your network . It enables the router to provide
an added layer of protection for your local
network by intercepting and filtering traffic
into and out of your network .
An application level gateway (ALG) provides
application security by understanding the
protocols used by the applications that it
supports and inspects protocol packets of
traffic passing through it.
